Introduction: HDFC Securities Limited, a subsidiary of HDFC Bank, was established in 2000 through a joint venture involving HDFC Bank Limited, HDFC Limited, and Indocean eSecurities Holdings Limited. Headquartered in Mumbai, it has become a leading stock broking firm in India.

Evolution and Expansion: Over the years, HDFC Bank has increased its stake in HDFC Securities, acquiring HDFC Ltd’s stake in 2006 and an additional 4% from Indocean Securities in 2008. This consolidation strengthened its ties within the HDFC Group.

Scope of Services: HDFC Securities offers comprehensive stock broking services and distributes various financial products. It operates as the stockbroking and distribution arm of the HDFC Group, affiliated with both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Branch Network and Digital Presence: As of March 2020, HDFC Securities had 262 branches across 161 Indian cities. Emphasizing digital accessibility, the company has invested significantly in online trading platforms to cater to its customer base.
